Shallotte police investigating armed robbery, kidnapping at Coastal Cinemas

Shallotte police officers are investigating an armed robbery, safecracking and kidnapping at Coastal Cinemas Sunday night.

According to an incident report, at about 10:30 p.m., two suspects came in through the business's side door. They were armed with handguns and hit the victim in the head twice with a gun. They went into the victim’s office, took an undisclosed amount of money and fled the scene.

Officers are investigating suspects, and arrests are expected.
