After-prom shooting leads to arrest

SUNSET BEACH—A Brunswick County man was arrested early Sunday and charged in connection with a shooting at an after-prom party at Sea Trail.

James Russell Hill III, 20, of 7542 Ocean Highway, was charged around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, May 4, with assault with a deadly weapon and intent to kill after shots were fired at another man and into an occupied dwelling at 246 Clubhouse Drive.

Also on May 4, police investigated a home break-in and theft on 28th Street on the Sunset Beach island. Someone forced open a utility door under the house and stole a set of golf clubs.
