It was Arbor Day in Carolina Shores last Friday as second-graders in Mrs. Parton’s class at Jessie Mae Monroe Elementary School took part in festivities. Carolina Shores Mayor Stephen Selby presented a welcome and statement about ‘Trees In Our Environment.’ The class then took part in a tree planting ceremony with town commissioner and tree committee member John Russo.
