Archbishop visits St. Paul’s by the Sea

The Most Rev. Scott McLaughlin recently visited St. Paul’s by the Sea Anglican Church.

Archbishop McLaughlin is the Presiding Bishop of the Orthodox Anglican Church in America and Metropolitan Archbishop of the Orthodox Anglican Communion. 

The Orthodox Anglican Communion is the second largest fellowship of Anglicans in the world.

While at St. Paul’s, the Archbishop confirmed Clara and Anna Tyson, daughters of Mac and Beth Tyson. He also brought the St. Paul’s congregation up to date on the work of the OAC throughout the world and spoke at length about his recent visit to West Africa. 

The Archbishop plans to visit South America and India in the coming months.

St. Paul’s is a recently formed Anglican mission currently meeting at the Calabash EMC building at 5 p.m. Saturdays. 

The Rev. Canon T. Creighton Jones is the priest in charge of St.Paul’s, assisted by deacons Donald Hayes and Mac Tyson. 

 The church practices traditional Anglican worship using the 1928 and 1662 versions of the Book of Common Prayer.
