Armed robbery suspect apprehended by sheriff

As a result of a continuing investigation into an armed robbery that occurred Thursday, Nov. 1, Brunswick County Deputies went to a residence on Old King Road in Ash around 12:30 p.m. on Friday. When deputies arrived at this location, Christopher Babson, a wanted suspect in the armed robbery, exited the residence through a window and began to run away. He was immediately apprehended and placed under arrest.

Babson was transported to the Brunswick County Detention Center to appear before a magistrate on warrants. The other suspect involved in the incident is still unknown and at large.
Babson, 30, has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, possession of a firearm by a felon, robbery with a dangerous weapon, discharging a weapon into an cccupied dwelling and resisting a public officer. He has been placed under a $150,500 bond.

Deputies responded to a call that shots had been fired at the home of Christopher Lacki at 2582 Aberdeen St. SW in Supply around 4:30 p.m. Thursday. When they arrived, Lacki was the only person in the home. He was not injured.

According to sheriff's spokesperson Sgt. Del Routh, two people had fled the scene in a light blue vehicle.

Both men are believed to be armed and dangerous and should not be approached if seen.
