The Cooperative Council of North Carolina hosted its 2012 Leadership Camp June 18-22 at the North Carolina FFA Center at White Lake.
Sponsored by ATMC, John Bernheisel of Bolivia, Janzen Jones of Southport and Savanna Michaux of Oak Island were chosen to attend this year’s camp.
The leadership camp is an educational, five-day resident camping program consisting of speakers, workshops, recreation and small group sessions with special emphasis on how cooperatives operate and how to develop leadership skills.
Bernheisel is the 15-year-old son of Tami Bernheisel. He has been active with the Brunswick County 4-H program for four years.
Jones is the 15-year-old daughter of Stephanie and John Jones and has been involved with 4-H for 10 years.
Michaux is the 15-year-old daughter of John and Donna Michaux and has also been active in the 4-H program for 10 years.
Each student will be eligible for the $1,000 N.C. Cooperative Leadership Camp College Scholarship when they become a senior.
“ATMC was proud to sponsor these students who attended the Cooperative Leadership Camp,” said Allen Russ, ATMC CEO/general manager.
“These young people will benefit tremendously from this experience by learning leadership skills which will last them a lifetime. We appreciate our local 4-H representatives for their on-going support of this annual program.”
ATMC has served as a camp sponsor since 1977.
