Band of the week: Craig Woolard Band set to sing at summer concert series

The Craig Woolard Band is described as a high-energy, seven-piece party and dance band with a killer horn section. It wows the crowd with one of the most diverse repertoires and original crowd-participation shows in the industry.

The band is self-contained with a state-of-the-art sound system and technical crew and is known for its keen professionalism, incredible stage presence, enormous talent and unsurpassed showmanship.

Phenomenal front man Craig Woolard is recognized as one of the finest singer-entertainers to ever hit the stage. He constantly

works the crowd with his witty personality, relentless energy, unique finesse and powerful voice.

He has performed for both President Clinton and Senator Dole’s inaugurations, major sports events including NASCAR, as well as major cruise ships to the Caribbean and Mexico. Throughout his career, Woolard has had the honor of performing with legends like Percy Sledge, The Four Tops, The Temptations, William Bell, Dedra Farr, The Blues Brothers, Alabama, The Rolling Stones and Frankie Valli, to mention a few.

His performances span the East Coast to California, New York, Canada, Hawaii and the Caribbean.

Woolard and CWB have received many awards and have been multi-time Carolina Beach Music Award winners, including group of the year, entertainer, male vocalist (12 times), collaboration, album of the year, blues song of the year, producer and song of the year. In 2010, Woolard received the lifetime achievement award, and in 2001, he was inducted into the CBMA Hall of Fame.

Woolard’s first solo effort, “Love Don't Come No Stronger,” was voted CBMA Song of the Year, as well as Producer of the Year.

At the 2012 CBMAs, CWB won five awards including male vocalist, album of the year (“Main Street People”), blues song of the year (“Harlem Shuffle”) and live production and instrumentalist of the year.
