BCC athletics department blood drive exceeds expectations

The Brunswick Community College department of athletics sponsored the American Red Cross Blood Drive Aug. 26 at the Dinah E. Gore Fitness & Aquatics Center.

“BCC athletics has several goals this year, and one is to increase community support in Brunswick County,” said Ashlyn Burke, the assistant athletics director and head women’s basketball coach.

As athletes arrived on campus the first week of school, their first project was to sponsor the American Red Cross Blood Drive on their home court, Burke said.
