BCC beats Wilkes in volleyball

The Brunswick Community College volleyball team beat Wilkes 25-8, 25-9, 25-23 on Oct. 8. Crystal Hicks had seven kills and four blocks. Miriah Milliken had seven assists. Kristen Love and Breana Gause had five aces. Griffin Hewett had three kills, three aces and three digs. Jennette Taylor had four aces.


The same day, BCC lost to Catawba Valley 9-25, 18-25, 10-25. Brittany Spivey had three kills. Crystal Hicks had three kills and four blocks. Shanita Hampton had three kills.

On Friday, BCC lost to Louisburg College 26-28, 16-25, 17-25. Spivey had four kills and eight assists. Hampton had six kills. Milliken had seven digs and nine assists. Gause had five kills.

The same day, BCC lost to Rockingham in a non-conference match 16-25, 16-25, 27-29 BCC had set point two times in the third set. Spivey had five kills and eight assists. Hampton had seven digs. Love had four aces. Milliken had 12 assists and five digs. Hewett had three kills. Hicks had four kills. Gause had two aces, six digs, three kills and two blocks.

On Saturday, BCC lost to Sandhills 22-25, 21-25, 16-25. Spivey had five kills. Hampton had six digs. Love had two aces and had the best serving percentage on the team for the season. Milliken had seven assists. Hicks had four digs and six kills. Courtney Pierce had eight digs. Gause had five blocks.

BCC is 2-13.
