BCC youth basketball clinics in January

The Brunswick Community College women’s basketball team is offering two youth basketball clinics in January at the Dinah E. Gore Fitness & Aquatics Center. 

BCC coach Ashlyn Burke and her team will conduct the clinics. The first clinic begins at 8:30 a.m. Jan. 15. BCC plays Spartanburg Methodist at 1 p.m. that day. The second clinic begins at 8:30 a.m. Jan. 29. BCC plays Louisburg College at 1 p.m. that day.

Groups will be split between youths in second through fifth grades (for girls and boys) and for youths in sixth through eighth grades (for girls only)

The clinics will include skills sessions from 8:30-11 a.m. on the game of basketball, teamwork concepts and team-building activities, lunch from 11 a.m.-noon with the BCC basketball team and pre-game warm-ups with team from noon-1 p.m. There will be special recognition during the BCC basketball game.

Youth participants should be prepared to run, jump and perform basketball skills. Youth should wear gym clothes, socks and tennis shoes to the clinics.
