Bennett celebrates her big day

Vertilee Bennett celebrates her 90th birthday on April 7 with a luncheon at the Boundary House Restaurant in Calabash. Wife of the late Capt. Harry Bennett, she is a long-time resident of Calabash where she and Capt. Harry owned and operated a fishing center and marina. Bennett has two daughters, nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two soon-to-be great, great-grandchildren. She attributes her longevity to her faith in God and doing his will.
