Brunswick Family Assistance (BFA), in collaboration with Victory Free Will Baptist Church of Leland, will open a satellite office to provide low-income individuals and families with better access to self-sufficiency programs.
The satellite office will be at the Victory Free Will Baptist Church Annex, 9835 Wayne St. NE in Leland, and will provide services from 12:30-4 p.m. Tuesdays and from 9 a.m. to noon Thursdays, beginning Tuesday, April 1.
The office will provide a variety of services ranging from information and referral, assistance with paying utility bills, rental assistance and assistance with emergency shelter.
The office phone number will be 512-6411.
“The programs and services that will be provided through the new satellite office will go a long way in assisting residents with many of the issues facing families and individuals in crisis in the northeastern part of Brunswick County,” said Fred C. Abernethy, chairman of the board of Brunswick Family Assistance. “The additional location would provide substantially more Brunswick County residents with access to services as part of BFAs comprehensive approach to assisting individuals to become self sufficient.”
“Victory Free Will Baptist Church is excited about this new partnership and looks forward to assisting in the process and helping the people of our area,” said pastor Jay Merritt of Victory Free Will Baptist Church.
Brunswick County residents in need can also access services Monday through Friday at the agency’s main office at 4600-8 Main St. in the Twin Creek Plaza in Shallotte.
