Big Daddy Drives to Inlet View

-A A +A

North Carolina-based band Big Daddy Drive is bringing its sound to Shallotte, and to a worldwide audience.
The band debuted its CD “Long Road” to the public back in August 2011 and has been touring and promoting ever since.
The band will perform in concert beginning at 9 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at Inlet View Bar & Grill, 1800 Village Point Road SW. There is no charge for the show.
“We love playing in Shallotte and the Brunswick County beach areas,” said drummer Mark Schwarze. “We are excited to bring the CD and all of the new music to the great audiences at Inlet View. We will put a smile on your face and kick in your step.”
The CD is available at shows and through mail order, and also available at several retail outlets in eastern North and South Carolina. The band is focusing its energies on digital distribution of the four-song EP. It has released “Long Road” through outlets such as iTunes, Amazon, Napster, Rhapsody and 14 other online digital distributors. The EP is available in 23 countries. “The audiences have been responding well to the new music,” said guitarist Josh Bryant. “The songs talk about lost love, hitting the road and breaking free, and we even threw in a murder mystery.”
Big Daddy Drive consists of Jami Moore, lead vocals and guitar; Keith Ross, lead guitar; John Gales, bass; Josh Bryant, guitar; and Mark Schwarze, drums. The band has been together for six years, having toured extensively through the North and South Carolina region. They describe their music as a blend of their rock and southern rock roots and have opened for such national acts as Little Texas and Molly Hatchet. During live shows, they play a variety of rock and classic covers, in addition to original music. Their live show is a throwback to the high-energy hard rocking entertainment of the 80s. Crowd participation pieces like the “World Famous Booty Shakin’ Contest” have audience members being brought on stage to join in on the music making and become part of the show.
