Blooming for a Cause is April 16

-A A +A

The GFWC of Holden Beach will once again present Blooming for a Cause, a charity luncheon, fashion show and silent auction to benefit Hope Harbor Home and Providence Home, from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, April 16.

Hope Harbor Home is a shelter for women and children. Providence Home provides temporary housing for teens in need.

This year’s signature charity fundraiser will feature fashions and professional models provided by Clarice Holden and Island Breeze of Sunset Beach. The luncheon will be catered by Coastal Catering and Events and will include a cash wine bar and mimosas. The silent auction includes get-a-ways, as well as exclusive art, jewelry and accessories.

This year’s event will also feature a new addition, “Chairs for Charity.” Local artists have agreed to decorate and embellish accent tables and chairs and make them available for purchase exclusively at the silent auction.

To ensure Hope Harbor Home and Providence Home derive the maximum benefits from this event, the GFWC of Holden Beach, a 501(c) 3 charitable organization, is soliciting sponsorships as well as contributions of items for the silent auction. All contributors will receive public recognition at the event and in the print media. Call Barbara Steinberg at 846-2197 for information on how to make a contribution and become a valued and publicly recognized sponsor. There are many levels of participation.

Tickets are $40 per person. Contact Carolyn Sweatt at 842-2850. Seating is exclusively by reservation prior to April 1. This event is expected to sell out.

Garden hats are optional.
