Blues and crabs in Little River this weekend

LITTLE RIVER, S.C.—Get ready for crabs, crafters and crooners.

The 31st Annual Blue Crab Festival is set for this weekend just south of the border in Little River, S.C.

Scheduled 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, the festival traditionally showcases all-day entertainment and an array of food and arts-and-crafts booths lining the Little River waterfront the weekend after Mother’s Day.

Other events at the “biker-friendly festival” include a children’s area and activities.

Saturday’s onstage performers include Jim Quick & Coastline from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m., The Rick Strickland Band from 1:45-3:15 p.m. and Carolina Breakers from 3:30-6:30 p.m.

Sunday’s lineup includes Ken Jordan featuring Jackie Beaumont and the band 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and the Craig Woolard Band 3-6 p.m.

One-day Blue Crab Festival tickets are $3 in advance and two-day tickets are $5 in advance, available at the Little River Chamber of Commerce, North Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce and First Bank in Little River.

General gate admission is $4 per day.

Free printable child and student passes for ages 12 and younger are also available online at www.bluecrabfestival.org.

Shuttle buses will provide transportation to and from the festival site from available parking at Lowes Foods, River Hills Medical Plaza, Collision Masters and Willard’s Fireworks in Little River.
