Booze It & Lose It works to get dangerous drivers off the road

Between Aug. 17 and Sept. 3, Brunswick County law enforcement agencies took part in 135 checkpoints and patrols as part of the state’s Labor Day Booze it & Lose It campaign.

The checkpoints resulted 92 DWI citations being issued. Another 86 charges were issued for people not wearing appropriate safety restraints in their vehicles.

Seventy-five people were charged for various drug offenses during the campaign here in Brunswick County and 13 fugitives were apprehended.
