Bowlers compete in Special Olympics

The Brunswick County Parks and Recreation Department ran a Special Olympics adult bowling tournament Oct. 10 at the Brunswick County Bowling Center.

Highest score for the men was Leon Benton with a 162; for the women, Kim Rivers, 138.

Pizza Hut of Shallotte donated pizzas for lunch. The West Brunswick High School JROTC helped as volunteers.

First place in each division: Division 1, Leon Benton. Division 1-A, Dennis Wilson. Division 2, Chris Oxendine. Division 3, Dion Smith, Tim Simmons and Brian Bellamy with a three-way tie for first place. Division 4, Tiffany Hughes-Ross. Division 5, Maurice Edge. Division 6, Timothy Russ.
