Brunswick County’s unemployment rate more than 10 percent

For August, Brunswick County’s unemployment rate was 10.5 percent.

That’s a minor dip from July when the county’s unemployment rate was at 11 percent. It was a little less than that, 10.9 percent, in June.

For August, of the county’s 50,003 eligible workers, some 5,262 were unemployed. The county’s unemployment percentage exceeds the state’s unemployment rate for the same month, which was 9.7 percent.

Brunswick County’s unemployment rate for August 2011 was 11 percent.
