Brunswick County’s unemployment rate yoyo-ed from March to May, but remained under 10 percent.
Brunswick County’s unemployment rate was 10.0 percent in May 2012, according to the North Carolina Department of Commerce Labor and Economic Analysis Division.
The rate almost reached that point again in March, hitting 9.9 percent. But unemployment dropped to 8.9 percent in April. The latest statistics from NCDOC for May 2013, which were released July 2, saw Brunswick County creeping back up to 9.6 percent unemployment.
