The Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team is a support unit, whose primary functions are traffic enforcement and assisting in the apprehension of drug traffickers in the county. The ACE team conducts driving while impaired, driver’s license and criminal information checkpoints, as well as street-level investigations on controlled substances. The ACE team works with the sheriff’s office K-9 Enforcement Team and Drug Enforcement Unit to apprehend narcotics suspects as well as saturating hot spots where criminal activity is reported.

The ACE Team works on speed reduction and DWI enforcement within Brunswick County and surrounding counties in cooperation with multi-agency traffic safety grant funded programs.

ACE Deputies issued 90 citations and charges from Feb. 9-15, including: 19 driving while license revoked violations, 15 no operator’s license citations, seven inspection violations, four insurance violations, 20 speed violations, one fictitious information to an officer citation, two carrying concealed weapons charges, one possession of a firearm by a felon charge, two child restraint violations, one window tint violation, one careless and reckless driving, nine registration violations, six misdemeanor drug arrests and six open containers.
