The Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team is a support unit, whose primary functions are traffic enforcement and assisting in the apprehension of drug traffickers in the county. The ACE team conducts driving while impaired and driver’s license checkpoints, as well as street-level investigations on controlled substances.

The ACE team works with the sheriff’s office K-9 Enforcement Team and Drug Enforcement Unit to apprehend narcotics suspects as well as saturating hot spots where criminal activity is reported.
The ACE Team works on speed reduction and DWI enforcement within Brunswick County and surrounding counties in cooperation with multi-agency traffic safety grant funded programs.

ACE deputies patrolled the following communities: Waterford, Magnolia Greens, Brunswick Forest, Old Lanvale Road, Wedgwood, Ocean Ridge, Bricklanding, Calabash, Carolina Shores, Navassa, Northwest, Sunset Beach, Bolivia, Lanvale Road, Mount Misery Road, Lincoln Road, Varnamtown, Holden Beach, Sea View, Oyster Harbor, Seashore Hills, Forest Hills, Little Macedonia Road, Makatoka Road, Big Macedonia Road and Creekwood Estates.

From April 12-18, ACE deputies issued 25 total arrests and citations, including five no operator’s license charges, 11 speed violations, two driving while license revoked citations, one illegal passing charge, one stop light violation, two expired registration charges, one inspection violation and two child restraint violations.
