Brunswick County Sheriff's Office K-9 Roundup

The K-9 enforcement team answers calls, conducts driver’s license checkpoints and assists with other agencies when K-9s are needed.

From May 4-10, deputies with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Enforcement Team answered 27 calls, issued eight drug charges and wrote 11 uniform citations.

Deputies patrolled the following communities: Wildwood, Lakewood, Brunswick Forest, Tarlanding, Navassa, Ocean Ridge, Mulberry and Waterford. Driver’s license checkpoints were set up on Mount Misery Road, Brooklyn Street, Long Beach Road, Pea Landing Road and North Mulberry Street.

The following suspects were charged:

•Terry Jonathan Penn, 20, of 2232 Meadow Ridge Lane, Virginia Beach, Va.; charged with aggravated misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

•Krystal Dawn Arnold, 19, of 7045 Oak Island Road NW, Ash; charged with possession of less than ½ ounce or less of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

•Nathan Lewis Jernigan, 24, of 583 Winding Creek Road Apt. B, Fayetteville; charged with possession of less than ½ ounce or less of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

•Eric Michael Orlando, 30, of 1376 Greenfield Road, Supply; charged with possession of ½ ounce or less of marijuana, possession of a schedule IV controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

•Emanuel Wayne Willis, 23, of 704 Park Ave., Leland; charged with possession of ½ ounce or less of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance on prison/jail premises and expired registration.

•Daniel Scott James, 34, of 5420 Sidbury Road, Castle Hayne; charged with possession of ½ ounce or less of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
