The K-9 enforcement team answers calls, conducts driver’s license checkpoints and assists with other agencies when K-9s are needed.

From Feb. 23- March 1, deputies with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Enforcement Team answered 15 calls and issued eight uniformed citations.

K-9 deputies patrolled and set up driver’s license checkpoints in the following areas: Longwood, Seashore Road and N.C. 133. Communities patrolled include Riverview, Brunswick Plantation, The Farm, Magnolia Greens, Waterford, Wildwood and The Arbors.

Deputies charged three suspects with drug charges, charged one driver with driving while license revoked, cited one driver for an open container, assisted Shallotte police in apprehending an armed robbery suspect and served three arrest warrants.

•Cedric Earl Williams, 24, of 940 Randolphville Road, Bolivia; charged with possession of ½ ounce or less of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

•Tracy Eugene Helms, 33, of 212 Maple Creek Road, Supply; charged with possession of ½ ounce or less of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of an open container of alcohol.
