Brunswick County Sheriff's Office Special Operations Team roundup

The special operations team at the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office includes the K-9 enforcement team and Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team.

The ACE Team is a support unit whose primary functions are traffic enforcement and assisting in the apprehension of drug traffickers in the county.

From July 9-15, special operations deputies issued 85 total traffic citations and charges.

Deputies set up checkpoints on the new Oak Island bridge, N.C. 133, Bluebanks Loop, U.S. 17 at the state line, U.S. 17 in Leland, N.C. 179, Hickman Road, Seaside Road, Mount Misery Road, Chapel Loop Road and Lackey Road.

The following suspects were charged:

•Victor Joe Jacinto, 28, of 1332 Bellamy Road Apt. A2, North Myrtle Beach, S.C., was charged with driving while impaired and no operator’s license.

•Johnnie Francis Ballard, 67, of 2449 Cedar Hill Road, Leland, was charged with driving while impaired and open container.

•Leon Pierce, 26, of 210 North 30th St., Wilmington, was charged with driving while impaired.

•Chandler Elliot Wheeler, 42, of 608 Silver Grass Court, Wilmington, was charged with driving while impaired.

•David Cosme, 35, of 1227 High St., Shallotte, was charged with driving while impaired, no operator’s license and no child safety seat.

•Hollis Judson, 26, of 327 Barefooters Blvd., New Milford, Pa., was charged with possession of one-half ounce or less of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

•Ryan Butler, 25, of 4136 State Route 2002, Hop Bottom, Pa., was charged with possession of one-half ounce or less of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

•Dennis Aaron Bentley, 49, of 2245 Jackson Circle, Little River, S.C., was charged with driving while impaired, open container and no operator’s license.

•Debra Talley Wilkie, 60, of 142 Pike Road, Southport, was charged with driving while impaired and open container.

•Triston Nakea Walker, 44, of 964 River Road, Leland, was charged with driving while impaired.

•Heather Dawn Pridgen, 32, of 10024 Birch Place SE, Leland, was charged with driving while impaired.

•Alexander Shovlowsky, 62, of 413 Patrick Henry Court, Clover, S.C., was charged with driving while impaired.
