Brunswick County Sheriff's Office special operations team roundup

The special operations team at the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office includes the K-9 enforcement team and Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team.

The ACE Team is a support unit whose primary functions are traffic enforcement and assisting in the apprehension of drug traffickers in the county.

From July 23-29, special operations deputies set up checkpoints at N.C. 179, Thomasboro Road and Hickman Road.

The following suspects were charged:

•Mary Joran Collins, 20, of Thomasville was charged with possession of one-half ounce or less of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

•Daquan Trendell Brunson, 18, of Wilmington was charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

•Kareem Brunson, 19, of Wilmington was charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
