Brunswick County’s unemployment rate continues to drop in small increments each month, but still trails the state average.
According to the North Carolina Department of Commerce Labor and Economic Analysis Division, Brunswick County’s not seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 9.3 percent in July 2013.
North Carolina’s not seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 9.1 percent in July, but NCDOC reported Sept. 20 that the rate for August will drop to 8.3 percent partially because of a decrease in the labor force numbers.
