Brunswick County Wrestler of the Year

Sammy Roundtree wrapped up his high school wrestling career with a fifth place finish in the 130-pound class at the Class 1A/2A state championships last month in Winston-Salem.

In doing so, he also wrapped up Brunswick County’s Wrestler of the Year honors.

Roundtree, who finished his senior season with a 46-3 record, is the cornerstone of a very talented All-Brunswick County team.

In all, 10 of the 12 wrestlers from Brunswick County who qualified for the state tournaments are members of the elite squad.
