Dosher adds medical clinic on Oak Island
Dosher Memorial Hospital, 924 N. Howe St. in Southport, has announced the opening of a new medical clinic on Oak Island to help meet the ever-growing healthcare needs of residents of Smithville Township and the surrounding area.
Dosher Medical Oak Island, 4700 E. Oak Island Drive in the Dosher Professional Building, is scheduled to open on Monday, June 25. The clinic will be staffed by physician assistant Melissa Pfitzer, PA-C, under the direction of Dr. G. Thomas Holland, MD.
“For several years, there has been a real need for Medicare and Medicaid primary care coverage in southeastern Brunswick County,” said Dosher Hospital’s community relations director Kirk Singer. “Due to the growth and aging of our area’s population and the financial need of many of the township’s residents, finding medical coverage for many patients has been difficult. With the clinic’s convenient location and hours of operation, and compassionate care, the establishment of Dosher Medical Oak Island should help fill that need for residents in and around Oak Island.”
Dosher Medical Oak Island is now accepting new patients and will offer family medical care with convenient hours from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. For appointments, call the clinic at 278-6414. Walk-in patients are welcome.
