LONGWOOD—A Calabash woman was killed Monday in a single-car wreck on Longwood Road.

According to N.C. State Highway Patrol Sgt. T.T. Daniels, Sarah Nicole Linker, 24, of Calabash, was killed in a single-vehicle wreck on Longwood Road near N.C. 130 Monday evening.

Around 7:30 p.m. Monday, June 13, Linker was driving her 2008 Ford passenger vehicle north on Longwood Road.

Linker crossed the centerline, ran off the road to the left, and then overcorrected her vehicle, which caused her to run off the road to the right. Daniels said the car struck a ditch and overturned several times before landing on its roof.

Linker was ejected from the vehicle and was killed.

Daniels did not know Linker’s estimated speed, but said speed was listed as a contributing factor on the wreck report. Drugs and alcohol were not suspected to be contributing factors in the wreck, Daniels said.

The driver traveling behind Linker called 911 to report the wreck.
