The town of Carolina Shores will observe its 10th anniversary from 2-5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, with a celebration at town hall, 200 Persimmon Road.

Highlights will include tours of the new town hall addition, the newly carpeted commissioners’ chambers and the Calabash Fire Department’s new burn trailer.

County commissioner Phil Norris’ bluegrass band and a barbershop quartet will entertain. Refreshments will be served 3-5 p.m. There also will be door prizes.

“It should be a lot of fun for the residents,” said event organizer and town commissioner Tom Puls, who will emcee the event.

The celebration is open to all Carolina Shores residents, including its five subdivisions: The Farm, Beacon Townes, Village at Calabash, Lighthouse Cove and Calabash Cove. Residents in the town’s extraterritorial jurisdiction, such as Cedar Tree, also are invited.

State representatives have been invited.

Town commissioners, Mayor Stephen Selby, town staff and past mayors and commissioners also are expected.

Puls said residents are asked to bring their own lawn chairs and to carpool as much as possible because of limited parking space at town hall.
