A Carolina Shores man was killed Friday, Oct. 5, when his SUV collided with another SUV on U.S. 17.
Robert Cary Jr., 58, of Calabash Drive, Carolina Shores, died following the two-vehicle wreck reported at 10:01 p.m.
According to Sgt. C.K. Parks with the North Carolina Highway Patrol, Cary had exited the driveway at Morgan’s Body Shop and was crossing the highway headed south when his 2001 Jeep SUV hit a 2003 Jeep SUV driven by Maria Cortes of Sunset Beach. Cortes was driving north in the inside travel lane, Parks said.
