Change in weather brings new challenge

-A A +A
By Capt. Jacob Frick

August is normally known as the dog days of summer, with the heat making the fishing tough. This year it has been much cooler with lots of rain showers so far. The water temperature dropped 11 degrees after the first three days in August brought us torrential rains. As the rain continued to fall, the water clarity went from a clear greenish color to a dark black purplish color. Anyone who has fished in our area knows these condition changes are going to make the fishing very challenging for the next few days or even weeks.
