The South Brunswick High School girls’ and boys’ basketball teams suffered narrow defeats last Tuesday at South Columbus.
Kelly Strickland’s three-pointer with 2.5 seconds remaining in overtime lifted South Columbus to a 32-29 victory in the girls’ game.
Amanda Dowe tossed in a game-high 16 points for the Lady Stallions, who improved to 3-1 in the Waccamaw 1A/2A Conference and 7-4 overall.
High scorers for South Brunswick (0-3, 5-9) were Christina Deveney with eight points, Kat Adams with seven and Teak Smith and Rose Coley with six each.
