Canine Angels benefit dinner is Feb. 25
A spaghetti dinner to benefit Canine Angels will take place 5-8 p.m. Feb. 25 at Dirty Dick’s Restaurant, 1101 N. Kings Hwy. in North Myrtle Beach, S.C.
For a $10 donation, each patron will be served a dinner of spaghetti, salad, bread, dessert and soft drinks. There will also be a raffle and a 50/50 event.
All proceeds will go to Canine Angels dogs for disabled veterans. For ticket information, call Kathy at (843) 399-2939. No tickets will be sold at the door.

Kiwanis to play bridge as scholarship fundraiser
The third annual Kiwanis Bridge for Scholarships will take place from 1:30-4:30 p.m. Sunday, March 18, at the Brunswick Center (beside the Wingate Hotel) in Southport. Both ACBL-sanctioned duplicate and social bridge will be played. There will be a $20 donation per player at the time of registration.
Bridge for Scholarships, sponsored by the Southport-Oak Island Kiwanis Club, raises funds to help support the Kiwanis scholarship program, which grants 18 scholarships annually to deserving Brunswick County students.

GOP precincts to meet Feb. 18
Republicans in 10 precincts will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at Brunswick County GOP Headquarters, 971 Old Ocean Highway in Bolivia.
The meeting is open to all registered Republicans in Town Creek, Hood Creek, Bolivia, Mosquito 1, Secession 1, Secession 2, Shallotte, Supply, Longwood and Shingletree 2 precincts.
Any registered Republican interested in serving as a delegate to the Brunswick County Republican Party convention must be elected at their precinct meeting. For more information, contact Mike Richards at 523-0741.
