Toastmasters to meet at First Bank in Shallotte
The Brunswick County Toastmasters has changed its meeting location for the remainder of the year. It will meet at First Bank, 347 Whiteville Road in Shallotte, on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. For meeting times and information, call 540-1363.

Mayor, veterans to attend pancake breakfast April 29
Commander Jim Giroud of the Sons of the American Legion Squadron 503 has announced that veterans residing at Shallotte Assisted Living and Summit Place have been invited to attend the Sons’ pancake breakfast from 8 a.m.-noon Sunday, April 29, at Legion Post 503, 10277 Beach Drive (N.C. 179) in Calabash.
Mayor Knight of the town of Calabash has accepted an invitation to attend the breakfast, organizers said. Everyone in the area is welcome to come and greet the mayor and the veterans. For more information, call 575-5037.

Legion to have blood drive May 12
Calabash American Legion Post 503 will host a community blood drive from 8 a.m.-noon Saturday, May 12, at 10277 Beach Drive (N.C. 179) in Calabash.
