Newcomers Club meets Jan. 10
The Southwest Brunswick Newcomers Club (SWBNC) will meet from 10 a.m.-noon Thursday, Jan. 10, in the fellowship hall at Shallotte Presbyterian Church, 5070 MH Rourk Drive in Shallotte. Doors will open at 9:30 a.m. for new members to join and to sign up for scheduled recurring activities and planned special events.
Featured guest speaker will be Velva Jenkins from Brunswick Community College, an advocate for economic and workforce development through education and community involvement. An application to join the SWBNC can be found on the website. The cost to join is $10 per person. Meetings are on the second Thursday of the month through May 2013.
