Coaches select best basketball players

Waccamaw Conference boys’ and girls’ basketball coaches have voted to determine the best players in the conference. These are their selections.
West Brunswick
Jasmine Jackson, a senior forward, is first team. She averaged 15.3 points and 12 rebounds a game. She blocked nearly four shots a game.  She scored 306 of the team’s 719 points.
Nicole Turner, a senior forward, is second team. She averaged 5.8 points a game and led in assists.
Taylor Buffkin and Jamal Jacobs are first team. Jacobs, a senior guard, averaged 13 points a game. Buffkin, a senior guard, averaged 10 points and five rebounds a game.
Jawon McNeil and Markel Jones are second team. McNeil, a 6-foot-4 junior forward, averaged eight points six rebounds a game. Jones, a junior guard, averaged seven points and four assists a game.
North Brunswick
Daja White and Katrina Brown are first team. White, a junior guard,  averaged 14.6 points a game, making 45 percent of her attempted field goals. She also averaged 7.8 rebounds, three steals and 2.4 assists a game. Brown, a junior forward, averaged 6.8 points a game, making 40 percent of her attempted field goals. She also averaged 5.6 rebounds a game.
Tiffany Keaton and Annabel Hsia are second team. Keaton, a freshman cenger, averaged 4.2 points and 6.5 rebounds a game. Hsia, a sophomore guard, averaged 2.6 points, 1.6 steals and 1.6 rebounds a game.
Jeremy Young and Legrande Roseborough are first team. Young, a senior guard, averaged 15 points and five rebounds a game. He also had four assists and three steals a game. Roseborough, a senior forward, averaged 12 points and eight rebounds a game.
Adam Jacobs and Jaron Smyre are second team. Jacobs, a junior guard, averaged 10 points and three assists a game. Smyre, a senior guard. averaged seven points and two rebounds game.
South Brunswick
Kacy O’Connor, a junior guard, is first team. She averaged 5.8 points and 5.3 rebounds a game.
Jasmine Rabon, a junior forward, is second team. She averaged 6.8 points and 7.1 rebounds a game.
Justin Hill is first team. He averaged 7.7 points a game. Edward Reid is second team. He averaged 10.2 points a game.
