Promotion of College Tech Prep
This award recognizes clear and effective efforts by schools, colleges, and/or business and industry to promote and disseminate information about their CTP Program (plans, goals, successes, or projects). It also recognizes the best efforts in marketing to all stakeholders.
College Tech Prep Worksite Learning
Consortia that have demonstrated sound approaches in expanding the classroom through work-based learning are eligible.
Sites have applied competencies from the traditional classroom into the work place; faculty and businesses have worked together to blend content and context to achieve greater student learning and improved business models through the integration of students into the workplace.
College Tech Prep is a course of study designed to meet the need for high school graduates to have more technically-oriented educational backgrounds.
Through a blending of high-level academic and vocational courses, College Tech Prep prepares students for the collegiate-level courses required by two-year community college programs. Participants in College Tech Prep are consortia consisting of at least one community college, one high school, and industry partners. College Tech Prep is funded through the Carl D. Perkins Vocational and Technical Education Act of 2006.
