HOLDEN BEACH—Fueled by residents’ opposition to any commercial endeavors on the beach strand, town commissioners on Tuesday denied two local businesses’ requests to operate on the beach.
Two separate businesses—one seeking permission to operate a parasailing business, the other to sell Italian ice on the beach—were denied after commissioners said too many residents opposed the idea of allowing commercial operations on the beach.
