Community complaints lead to two drug arrests in Sunset Beach

Agents with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit arrested two suspects after community complaints in the Seaside Road area of Sunset Beach.

According to Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Sgt. April Stanley, drug agents answered community complaints at 210 Seaside Road, Sunset Beach, on June 15. Drug agents searched the home and seized about 25 grams of marijuana, marijuana plants, diverted prescription pills and drug paraphernalia from the home.

Patsy Ann Locklear and Keith Patrick Locklear were arrested without incident.

Patsy Locklear, of 210 Seaside Drive, was charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a schedule IV controlled substance, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a schedule VI controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place to keep a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

She was taken to the Brunswick County Detention Center, where she was placed on a $20,000 secured bond.

Keith Patrick Locklear, of 210 Seaside Drive, Sunset Beach, was charged with simple possession of a schedule VI controlled substance, manufacturing marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken to the Brunswick County Detention Center, where he was placed on a $5,000 secured bond.

Other suspects arrested by drug agents June 14-20, and their charges, are:

•Mary Courtney Byrd of 203 Oak Village Drive, Whiteville, was charged with obtaining property by false pretenses. Byrd was taken to the Brunswick County Detention Center and placed on a $10,000 secured bond.

•Rodney Troy Williams of 552 E. Davie St., Raleigh, was charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver cocaine, maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place to keep a controlled substance, manufacturing cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Williams was taken to the Brunswick County Detention Center and placed on a $5,000 secured bond.

•Haitham A. Alsawada of 802 W. Ninth St., Southport, was charged with felony possession of cocaine and driving while license revoked.

•Melissa Bumgarner of 2560 Elkin St., Supply, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
