Contract post office slated to open Thursday

CALABASH—At the back of Calabash Ace Hardware, assistant manager Bob Crawford bustled behind the new post office counter Monday, preparing for its opening.

Beyond the paint section, lawn furniture and aisles laden with tools and plumbing supplies, Calabash’s new contract postal unit is slated to open Thursday, March 13, inside the store at 9030 Beach Drive.

The new CPU is described as full-service, offering a full line of postal products and services, including postage stamps, Express and Priority Mail services and packaging products.
