 BOILING SPRING LAKES—South  Brunswick beat West Brunswick 7-2 in a conference tennis match April 16 at South.


The Cougars won five singles matches and two doubles matches.

The victory kept South unbeaten in the conference (9-0) and secured the No. 1 3A seed in the NCHSAA 3A state duals. South is 16-2 overall.

In singles, Caleb Stanley (SB) def. Jason Watts 6-3, 6-4. Gabe Azzato (SB) def. Ray King 6-1, 6-0. Noah Pieper (SB) def. Lance Watts 6-1, 6-0. Joey Kronenwetter (SB) def. Tyler Micallef 6-2, 6-4. Luke Bollinger (WB) def. Jarrett Walls 3-6, 7-5, (10-8). Caleb Hemphill (SB) def. Kevin Gore 6-1, 6-0.

In doubles, Stanley-Azzato (SB) def. J. Watts-King 8-0. Pieper-Kronenwetter def. L. Watts-Micallef 8-4. Gore-Cameron Huffman (WB) def. Walls-Deon Graham 8-3.
