Brunswick County native CC Martin is bringing his brand of country to three stages of this year’s countywide summer concert series.
Martin’s next performance is at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, in Sunset Beach and Aug. 22 in Calabash. He’ll also be performing at this summer’s North Carolina Fourth of July Festival in his hometown of Southport.
The 35-year-old singer-songwriter grew up in Southport, the youngest of three siblings. He enjoys writing and singing his original music.
Martin’s sound is compared to country vocalists Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley and George Strait.
The church has been a strong influence in Martin’s musical performance background, with his songwriting driven by “a passion and desire to provide a positive ‘real life message’ about ‘real life people’ that the whole family can enjoy,” he writes on his website.
“When God gives you a gift and a dream, do everything you possibly can to perfect that gift,” Martin says. “Once you have done all that you can to perfect the gift, do everything you possibly can to pursue the dream.”
Last year, Martin released his first, namesake album, “CC Martin,” featuring original songs like “Flags of Freedom,” “You Like Country,” “Help Me Make It Home Tonight,” “Let’s Ride” and “Growin’ Up Down South.”
