Young golfers from throughout the area are invited to participate in The First Tee of Brunswick County Fall programming. Beginning golfers are welcome to join us.
Our after-school and Saturday golf and Life Skills classes begin the week of Aug. 27 with classes ending Nov. 17.
In these sessions young golfers ages 7-17 are exposed to The First Tee’s Life Skills Experience Curriculum that teaches our nine core values, character development and healthy habits through the sport of golf in a fun atmosphere.
The fall session will last for 11-12 weeks with classes available at six locations: The Golf Park at Cinghiale Creek (a mile northeast of Shallotte); St. James Plantation; Oak Island GC; South Harbour Par 3; Magnolia Greens; and Olde Fort.
Equipment, consisting of free golf clubs and golf balls, is provided as needed. There is a $25 registration fee with waivers based on financial need available.
The Little Linksters class for children 6 years old begins Sept. 14 and is offered every other week for five sessions.
Girls Golf will take place every other Friday for six sessions beginning Sept. 7. This is a unique opportunity for young women to learn the game in a socially friendly environment.
Both Little Linksters and Girls Golf also have $25 registration fees. Family opportunities for golf are also available to keep the entire everyone engaged and active.
Our chapter is honored to have as our program director, coach Terry Mauney, former PGA TOUR, Nationwide Tour and Champions Touring Professional on our staff. He adds a new dimension to our programming and opportunities for our youth.
Give your child the opportunity to learn the game of golf taught by our highly skilled volunteer coaching teams. Enroll now by registering online on our home page at www.thefirstteebrunswickcounty.org or contact Terry at 754-5288. If you’re interested in becoming a First Tee volunteer coach, give us a call.
