County, CIS team up for summer camps

-A A +A

Brunswick County Parks and Recreation and Communities in Schools (CIS) are teaming up to offer a summer full of fun and educational activities at an affordable cost. Activities will be action-packed and will include two field trips per week to area attractions, such as Jungle Rapids and Alligator Adventure. On-site activities include: sportacular fun, tennis adventure, art from the heart, popcorn toss, fast-crafts, geo-caching, trivia, and yes...quiet reading.
“We are very excited to once again provide summer camps to the elementary age children,” said Kathy Smith, CIS After School director. “Keeping kids engaged during the summer is not only helpful to them socially but critical to their academic success since most families cannot provide experiences that are consistently engaging for their children over summer break.”
Registrations are now being accepted at each of the CIS After School elementary school locations throughout Brunswick County. Informational meetings will be at 5 p.m. on the following dates and locations: March 26 at Belville, March 27 at Union, March 28 at Southport, and March 29 at Supply. Students from pre-K through fifth grade can register for one week of fun for $110. Call CIS at 253-5327, ext. 1432, or visit www.cisbrunswick.org for more information.
