County starts budget process for next fiscal year

LELAND—County commissioners have begun the budget process for the upcoming fiscal year.

Brunswick County Commissioners met Monday and Tuesday to hear budget requests from department heads and county staff.

The board was scheduled to continue its budget retreat at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27.

County manager Marty Lawing told commissioners the county is considering moving toward Web-based job postings and applications.

“It’s what everybody else is doing,” Lawing said.
