Craig Woolard Band plays Holden Beach on Sunday night

Brunswick County’s free concert and movie series is rounding the bend into its last few weeks for the season.

The next featured concert is Craig Woolard Band at 6:30 p.m. Sunday night, Aug. 11, at the Holden Beach Pavilion. The band is also scheduled to perform 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, at the gazebo in Village Park on Queen Anne Street in Sunset Beach.

The Craig Woolard Band is described as a high-energy, seven-piece party and dance band with a killer horn section. It wows the crowd with one of the most diverse repertoires and original crowd-participation shows in the industry.

Phenomenal front man Craig Woolard is recognized as one of the finest singer-entertainers to ever hit the stage. He constantly works the crowd with his witty personality, relentless energy, unique finesse and powerful voice.

The final concerts of the season are as follows.

Ocean Isle Beach (6:30 p.m. Fridays at Museum of Coastal Carolina) —Steve Owens & Summertime, Aug. 16; Sea Cruz, Aug. 23; Band of Oz, Aug. 30

Shallotte, in Rourk Garden — Coastline Band, 7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 29

Holden Beach (6:30 p.m. Sundays at Holden Beach Pavilion) — Craig Woolard Band, Aug. 11; The Tim Clark Band, Aug. 18; Parrot Party, Aug. 25; The Imitations, Sept. 1

Sunset Beach (6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesdays at the gazebo in Village Park, Queen Anne Street) — Craig Woolard Band, Aug. 14; Hip Pocket Band, Aug. 21; Fantastic Shakers, Aug. 28; Fat Jack Band, Sept. 4

Calabash — CC Martin, 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, at 1572 Thomasboro Road

Southport — Like Flint, 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, at Garrison House off Davis Street

The last free movies of the season include a showing of “Rise of the Guardians” Wednesday, Aug. 14, in Rourk Park in Shallotte, “Hotel Transylvania” Thursday, Aug. 15, in Calabash Town Park and “Dear John” Aug. 9 at the Southport waterfront. All movies start at dusk.
