Sunset River Marketplace’s Creative Exchange series continues with “Creative Accessorizing Made Easy” by style expert Betsy Russell from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10.
The fee is $5 and includes lunch. Due to limited seating, reservations are required.
Learn how to be more fashion savvy with easy ways to accessorize your wardrobe by combining new with old. The retailer/jewelry designer will discuss and present the latest trends to update your fashion palette. Russell is also adept at finding the right pieces in her own closet before shopping for new items, and she will be sharing her expertise with the group.
Attendees are requested to bring favorite pieces of jewelry, sweaters and tops, scarves, belts and other pieces for demonstration on how to put items together effectively.
Several years ago, Russell’s sister, Ginny Lassiter, owner of Sunset River Marketplace, surprised her at Christmas with a gift certificate for pottery classes. Once she began working with the clay, she realized she could design unique jewelry items around her clay. So after a background in retail clothing, she began creating unique necklaces using her clay pieces, beads, silver and copper wiring. According to Russell, she had always had a desire to design and to create fashions accessories, so hers is also a story of following your bliss to wind up in the right place.
This is the 11th event of the interactive Creative Exchange series at Sunset River Marketplace, 10283 Beach Drive (N.C. 179) in Calabash. Reserve a spot by calling the gallery at 575-5999.
