On Aug. 28, the nation remembered Martin Luther King Jr.’s impassioned and iconic “I Have a Dream” speech 50 years ago.
Here in Shallotte, early the morning of Aug. 30, someone decided to express himself all over Remedy’s Lounge by spray-painting racial epithets and profanity across the exterior, reminding us how far we have yet to go toward achieving that dream.
Maybe the vandalism was by some bored teenager with time to kill and a bad idea.
If that is the case: Find yourself a productive hobby, kid.
