Defense leads Cougars to victory over Ashley

BOILING SPRING LAKES—The South Brunswick Cougars proved the rout last week over Midway was not a fluke.

The defense manhandled the Ashley Eagles as the Cougars won 26-14 Friday night in a nonconference high school football game before a partisan crowd at the Brunswick campus. 

The offense almost gave the game away early, as the running backs had trouble holding onto the football. The Cougars fumbled five times, allowing the Eagles to score from close in.
